About The Position

Captivation Software is seeking a senior-level software engineer to design, develop, and maintain tools and services supporting Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence. The engineer will work with software developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to deliver integrations that enhance productivity and streamline workflows. The role supports the mission to protect the country and involves sustaining and innovating software solutions. This position is open to direct hires only; candidates from third-party staffing or recruiting firms will not be considered.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Meet one of the stated experience and education pathways: a master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus five years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus seven years of such SWE experience; or nine years of such SWE experience.
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Experience writing Bash and PHP scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java.
• Experience using an integrated development environment, such as the Atlassian plugin software developer kit (SDK).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code principles and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Experience creating documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes.
• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration.

Nice To Haves

• Experience sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment.
• Experience interacting with and training external customers.
