About The Position

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. We use an AI-first mindset as a force multiplier to proactively and continuously accelerate execution, build expertise, uncover insights, and solve complex problems. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you. About the Role The Platform API team defines the cross-platform APIs and abstractions that give the CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor a consistent programming interface across Windows, Linux, and macOS. These APIs sit at the boundary between feature code and OS-specific implementations and the quality of these abstractions directly shapes how fast and safely sensor development can move across the organization. The team is also responsible for shared platform code, with a clear distinction between platform-agnostic interfaces and per-platform implementation.. A central workstream is building shared on-sensor ML inference infrastructure: a cross-language runtime that enables any sensor component to execute ML models with hardware acceleration across all platforms. This is a systems software role. You'll work close to the OS across multiple platforms, reason carefully about correctness and performance under real-world load, and hold a high engineering bar in a codebase where reliability is non-negotiable. You will work cross-functionally with peer engineers across Mac, Linux, Windows, and many other teams inside and outside your core organization in a varied environment. What You're Stepping Into You're stepping into a team with established component ownership and a charter that is actively expanding. The engineering spans cross-platform correctness, performance-sensitive code paths, and shared platform infrastructure where a defect could propagate across every consumer simultaneously. You'll work alongside engineers who hold a high reliability bar for software that runs continuously on endpoints at global scale. If you want to build foundational software that runs at global scale and has a direct impact on security outcomes, this is the role.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in systems software engineering; hands-on experience in C and C++ in a low-level systems context
  • Cross-platform exposure across Windows, Linux, and/or macOS; ability to reason about portability, behavioral consistency, and platform-specific constraints
  • Solid API design instincts: clear interface contracts, ABI stability considerations, managing change with component versioning and bundling
  • Ability to own ambiguous technical problems and drive them to clean resolution
  • Collaborative and clear communicator that can work effectively across teams and can convey technical tradeoffs
  • Intellectual curiosity and the drive to deeply understand unfamiliar systems before changing them
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: testable, reviewable code; careful about edge cases; high personal bar
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for team offsites and in-person meetings
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in endpoint security, EDR, kernel-adjacent software, or sensor platform engineering
  • Experience with ML inference runtimes or model execution frameworks (ONNX, CoreML, OpenVINO); familiarity with how inference pipelines are structured is a plus
  • Experience with out-of-process architecture patterns: sandboxed service isolation or inter-process communication at low latency
  • Experience designing or maintaining cross-platform code or shared API layers consumed by multiple teams
  • Open source contributions, technical writing, or a visible engineering presence through conference talks or published work

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cross-platform API components and abstractions; own features from design through delivery across Windows, Linux, and macOS
  • Contribute to shared on-sensor ML inference infrastructure: build components of the API layer, client library, sandboxed inference service, and test harness that make ML model deployment a first-class capability in the sensor
  • Reason carefully about API contracts: interface clarity, ABI stability, backward compatibility, and the downstream cost of breaking changes across a large consuming codebase
  • Work directly with Mac, Linux, and Windows sensor teams to understand their requirements and evolve the API surface to meet them
  • Participate in design and code reviews; contribute substantive technical feedback that improves the quality of what ships
  • Investigate failures and troubleshoot issues that cross the API or inference boundary; build your knowledge of how platform abstractions interact with OS-specific behavior
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents; build your understanding of failure modes across the platform
  • Champion improvements in end-to-end testing and validation for components with strict correctness and reliability requirements

Benefits

  • Market leader in compensation and equity awards
  • Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs
  • Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge
  • Paid parental and adoption leaves
  • Professional development opportunities for all employees regardless of level or role
  • Employee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities to build connections
  • Vibrant office culture with world class amenities
  • Great Place to Work Certified™ across the globe
