About The Position

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is seeking four (4) experienced Software Engineer 2 professionals to perform advanced software development and programming tasks supporting critical application modernization initiatives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web and mobile applications using modern technologies, with a strong focus on .NET, Blazor, and database-driven systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 4+ years of experience in web-based application development
  • 4+ years of experience in programming languages such as: .NET / C#, HTML / HTML5, JavaScript, SQL, Stored Procedures
  • 4+ years of experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile SDLC methodologies
  • 3+ years of experience working in collaborative development teams
  • 3+ years of experience in requirements gathering and application maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience presenting application changes/demos to stakeholders
  • 2+ years of experience using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar
  • 1+ year of experience with C# .NET Blazor
  • Experience migrating applications from Java to C# .NET Blazor
  • Knowledge of responsive web design principles
  • Experience implementing WCAG accessibility standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced software development and programming activities
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and document complex applications
  • Build and maintain web-based and client/server applications
  • Develop front-end and back-end solutions using: C# (.NET), Blazor, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Stored Procedures, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and architects to gather and validate requirements
  • Analyze system workflows, data usage, and business processes to recommend technical solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues through root cause analysis
  • Support and maintain existing TDA applications, ensuring optimal performance
  • Develop mobile applications using: Visual Studio 2022, .NET Core 9.0, DevExpress tools
  • Implement secure payment integration within mobile applications
  • Participate in Agile development processes and SDLC activities
  • Conduct demos and presentations for stakeholders to obtain design approvals
  • Recommend improvements to development processes and standards
