About The Position

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements. The role may involve processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The engineer works individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components for adherence to design requirements, documents test results, resolves software problem reports, and applies software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The role also provides input to system design on hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS products instead of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from the system level to individual software components. This position focuses on software configuration management and release engineering. The engineer leads and supports configuration management, release control, software packaging, version control, and artifact repository management across multiple development and deployment environments. Releases must be controlled, versioned, packaged, documented, reproducible, and traceable throughout the software development lifecycle. The work includes RPM packages, Helm charts, and container images maintained and distributed through repositories and registries such as Sonatype Nexus, Harbor, and ContainerYard. The position is located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The listed annual salary range is $215,000–$263,000; actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
