About The Position

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility for the software artifacts produced, adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the Agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. This role supports both iOS and Android mobile platforms. The ideal candidate has experience developing mobile platform capabilities, backend-integrated mobile solutions, SDKs, and services that enable secure, scalable, and reliable mobile experiences. While familiarity with iOS development is important, this position requires the flexibility to contribute across both platforms as business priorities evolve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of relevant experience
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building mobile platform services, SDKs, and backend-driven mobile applications across iOS and Android environments
  • Working knowledge of Swift and/or Objective-C (iOS) and experience with Java and/or Kotlin (Android)
  • Experience developing features that integrate with backend systems, APIs, messaging frameworks, authentication services, and enterprise platforms
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, service integration, and mobile-to-backend communication patterns
  • Experience developing and consuming mobile SDKs, reusable libraries, platform components, and shared mobile frameworks
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across mobile applications, backend services, and distributed systems
  • Experience supporting high-scale, production-grade applications and services
  • Understanding of application performance, monitoring, observability, and stability across mobile and backend ecosystems
  • Experience in C++ is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of Payments and/or FinTech industry is a plus but not required
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with a focus on software quality, reliability, and continuous delivery

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products
  • Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
  • Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability, and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
  • Performs analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvements
  • Makes sound design and coding decisions while keeping customer experience at the forefront
  • Takes feedback from code reviews and applies changes to meet standards
  • Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
  • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
  • Exhibits relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards embedded into development practices
  • Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before escalation
