About The Position

OASYS, INC. is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer (0-2 years) with the right composition of knowledge, experience, and drive to develop software from front-end to back-end. The candidate will contribute to the design and development of the next generation of modeling and simulation tools for DoW medical planning. The modernization effort will transition our planning tools from desktop applications to web applications while integrating with external systems to facilitate seamless and rapid ingestion of external datasets.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development.
  • Strong foundation in an object-oriented programming language (C#, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of the following software engineering concepts: Object‑oriented programming (classes, interfaces, encapsulation, inheritance).
  • Basic knowledge of the following software engineering concepts: Data structures and algorithms (arrays, lists, stacks/queues, hash maps).
  • Basic knowledge of the following software engineering concepts: Software design principles (modularity, separation of concerns).
  • Basic knowledge of our technology stack: C#
  • Basic knowledge of our technology stack: .NET desktop development (WinForms, WPF)
  • Basic knowledge of our technology stack: .NET web development (Blazor, ASP.NET)
  • Basic knowledge of our technology stack: SQL
  • Basic knowledge of our technology stack: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Clear Communication: Able to explain technical concepts in written and verbal form to diverse audiences and contribute meaningfully to team discussions. Asks timely, clarifying questions to move work forward.

  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) code generation tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles

Responsibilities

  • Implement front-end or back-end features.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize web application performance.
  • Support debugging and troubleshooting of development, test, and production issues.
  • Participate in full software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, deployment) in a CMMI Maturity Level 3 environment.
  • Work in a software development team with support from teams of designers, system engineers, testers, and technical writers.
  • Work closely with User Interface (UI) / User Experience (UX) designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional interfaces.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and services.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Communicate progress clearly to mentors and/or team leaders.
  • Learn and follow best practices in modular design, code reuse, and maintainability.
  • Learn new technologies, tools, and workflows (e.g., .NET, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps).
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance user experience and system performance.
