Software Development Technical Planner

Booz Allen Hamilton•Warren, MI
•$77,600 - $176,000

About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Software Development Technical Planner to orchestrate and streamline the software delivery lifecycle. The role bridges engineering execution, program management, and technical delivery, with responsibility for creating and managing software build plans, end-to-end Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and release tracks. The planner works with software architects, development leads, QA, and configuration management to anticipate dependencies, mitigate delivery bottlenecks, and help ensure complex software deliverables ship reliably and on schedule. The position covers planning and coordination across multiple product teams and release trains, from code commit and automated testing through staging, security audits, and production deployment. It also involves aligning software milestones with hardware integration, third-party software deliveries, and customer schedules; monitoring schedule performance and health; and translating engineering progress into reports and executive dashboards. The planner collaborates with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Systems Engineers, and QA Leads to turn system requirements into detailed engineering work breakdown structures, assess risks and schedule impacts, and improve planning workflows through retrospectives and process refinement. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The position offers an annualized projected compensation range of $77,600 to $176,000. The work model is not specified for this particular position; the posting describes general expectations for remote, hybrid, and onsite roles. The role includes Booz Allen benefits, subject to eligibility requirements.
