About The Position

As the Senior Manager in OCI for Datacenter Software Engineering team, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team tasked with overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects within OCI. Your role will involve ensuring that the team's objectives are consistently aligned with the broader organizational goals, maintaining a strategic focus on long-term infrastructure stability and scalability. By fostering a high-performance culture, you will mentor and develop team members, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. Requirements

  • A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization within a technology-driven environment.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities, with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in recruiting, developing, and leading senior individual contributors (ICs) and building high-performing teams.
  • Ability to make decisions that significantly impact the organization’s infrastructure, with potential implications for revenue and long-term operational success.
  • Experience in Datacenter/IaaS Software Engineering.
  • Demonstrated Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
  • Proficient in Java or Python.
  • Experienced at building highly available services, common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
  • Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and lead engineers while solving for it.
  • Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)
  • Experience in managing a large scale critical service in a Cloud computing.
  • Expertise in Distributed Systems and cloud-native environments.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior manager of the software engineering in the data center infrastructure delivery org, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications.
  • Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
  • Your decisions will have a direct influence not only on your team but also on associated teams within OCI.
  • The outcomes of your work will play a critical role in the success of critical infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall resilience and growth of OCI's Datacenter critical Automation projects.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.
