About The Position

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to join the Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) team within Amazon Security. This role involves developing and operating large-scale internal security services that support various Amazon businesses, including AWS, Amazon.com, Twitch, and Whole Foods. The team focuses on identity management, permissions management, access control, authorization, and authentication, ensuring a strong security foundation for Amazon's critical services. We are looking for creative problem solvers passionate about cloud security and delivering solutions that improve user experience and security. The role operates within a DevOps model, encompassing the full software lifecycle, and emphasizes user experience as a key factor in security outcomes. Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers.
