About The Position

Chewy, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Manager for their Supply Chain - Outbound Technology team in Minneapolis, MN. This full-time role is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of software applications and related integrations. The manager will develop in-depth knowledge of business processes and systems, actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing, and implementation of software functionality using the Agile methodology. Key responsibilities include creating or modifying complex programs, modules, routines, scripts, and data objects where efficiency, performance, and reliability are critical. The role also involves collaborating to identify, isolate, and resolve software malfunctions, conducting knowledge transition to the application support team, and creating/evolving application documentation. This position supervises 4-8 direct reports, including Sr. SW Development Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience required as a Software Developer, or related position/occupation.
  • 6 years of experience with Daily standups, agile ceremonies, and meetings with stakeholders to discuss, understand, visualize, and convert requirements into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate and set expectations with cross-functional project teams on in-scope requirements and timelines.
  • Refining and redefining system attributes based on business needs.
  • Cross-product analysis to understand and modernize legacy systems, redefining interactions and fitting new components into the ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with source, downstream, implementation, and product teams on integrations, design decisions, and timelines.
  • Coordinate between diverse experts (Product Owners, Tech Arch, Engineers) to convert business needs into technical solutions.

  • Create or modify complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability are critical.
  • Collaborate to identify, isolate and resolve malfunctions related to software.
  • Conduct knowledge transition on solutions to the designated application support team.
  • Create and evolve application documentation as required.
  • Supervises 4 -8 direct reports – Sr. SW Development Engineer.
