Software Development Manager, AWS Lambda, Durable Functions
About The Position
Do you enjoy leading a team of talented SDEs working on the largest serverless service in AWS? Are you interested in meeting with customers, working across stakeholders, and launching new features? If so then come join AWS Lambda, Durable Functions SDK team! Lambda durable functions launched at re:Invent 2025 in the CEO keynote. We simplify how developers build fault-tolerant applications and AI workflows using familiar programming languages, extending Lambda's event-driven programming model with automatic checkpointing, failure recovery, and cost-efficient wait/suspend operations. We are seeing strong adoption across the board and expanding the team to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Nice To Haves
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
