Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team delivering Calendar features.
  • Owning the customer facing experience for Calendar on top Alexa+ LLM based experiences.
  • Working closely with various key stakeholders.
  • Managing the roadmap, proposing, aligning, and communicating trade offs to generate the optimal value to customers, providing timely visibility to all stakeholders including senior leadership.
  • Ensuring the team operates efficiently, leveraging latest Generative AI based tools as well as the appropriate cross-platform user-experience frameworks, developing experiences across multiple device types.
  • Working closely with senior leaders across Alexa to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Engaging cross-functional leaders from product and partner tech teams to conceptualize, scope, and plan upcoming deliveries, ensuring alignment on priorities and technical approaches.
  • Managing project planning by breaking down complex initiatives into actionable tasks, coordinating delivery timelines with the team, and actively tracking progress to identify and resolve blockers.
  • Communicating delivery status to stakeholders, providing transparent updates on milestones, risks, and achievements.
  • Shaping the vision, goals, and technical strategy by staying attuned to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Mentoring engineers through complex technical challenges, guiding design trade-offs.
  • Maintaining a relentless focus on innovating on behalf of customers.
