About The Position

We design, engineer, and deliver products and deployable technologies built for environments where traditional infrastructure falls short. Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company is looking for an experienced Software Development Lead to join the team. In this role, you will lead a team of developers writing automation to deploy new tools, add features and capabilities, and configure operating systems including ESXi and Security Onion in support of fly-away kit deployments. You will support projects using Ansible, bash, and Python scripting, serve in the role of a scrum leader, and own and manage multiple shared codebases. You will work heavily within virtualization environments deploying network tapping tools and systems, drawing on strong familiarity with RHEL-based Linux and VMware products. This is a hybrid position with an expectation of on site presence at least 40% of the time.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • 6+ years of experience in system automation and software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong familiarity with Linux (Red Hat/Rocky) and virtualization (VMware and containerization).
  • Extensive experience with Ansible automation.
  • Understanding of the function and operation of Defensive Cyber tools, including VMware, Splunk, Security Onion, Zeek, Palo Alto, and others.
  • Experience with system/software version control and management.
  • Experience managing release cycles and product changes.
  • Experience working within a security framework for compliance and auditing.
  • Understanding of L2/L3 Networking and VLANs.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Podman/Docker containers.
  • Experience with front-end development.
  • Python/PHP experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the realm of security patching, authentication, and log retention.
  • Experience working Defensive Cyber Operations within any Service Cyber Command elements or other Government organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers building automation to deploy new tools, add features and capabilities, and configure operating systems supporting fly-away kit deployments.
  • Personally perform hands on development and automation tasks as appropriate.
  • Serve as scrum leader for the development team, coordinating sprint activities and connecting with requisite stakeholders.
  • Own and manage multiple shared codebases, including branching strategy, code review, and version control standards.
  • Configure and maintain operating systems and virtualization environments including ESXi and Security Onion.
  • Deploy and integrate network tapping tools and systems within virtualization environments.
  • Manage release cycles and product changes from planning through deployment.
  • Write, document, and maintain processes and procedures related to architecture changes, engineering efforts, and security compliance.
