About The Position

Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Software Development Intern - AI and Analytics to work with the Data and Analytics team. This is a full-time, up to 8 months internship opportunity based out of Richmond, British Columbia office, starting in early September 2026. This position is hybrid, meaning that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Richmond location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment. Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience. The range for this internship is $23.50 - $27.00 CAD hourly. This position requires an active or ability to obtain Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment. This position is not contingent upon program award.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited university or college with studies in Computer Science or similar technical discipline.
  • Must be at least a 2nd year or higher student with studies in a relevant program.
  • Willing and able to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Provide consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment and willing and eligible to work on government and defense-related programs.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience.
  • Experience in Java or Python development.
  • Experience in development environments such as Git CI/DevOps tools.
  • Extracurricular activities related to leadership, community involvement, volunteering or teaming are an asset.
  • Knowledge of Agile for software engineering.
  • Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post graduate studies.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, coding, debugging, and testing software applications.
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders and Scrum or Kanban teams to understand requirements, contribute to discussions, present and demo assigned work, and provide input on technical solutions.
  • Learning and applying programming languages and technologies, which may involve learning new programming languages, understanding existing codebases, and adapting to different development environments.
  • Keeping up with industry trends and best practices, which may involve self-learning, attending training sessions, or participating in knowledge-sharing activities within the team.
  • Managing assigned tasks and delivering work within agreed-upon timelines, including communicating any challenges or roadblocks to your supervisor and seeking guidance when needed.
