About The Position
Workday is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer (SDE) for the Agent System of Record (ASOR) team. This team is at the forefront of Workday's AI and Agentic initiatives, focused on delivering and integrating agentic capabilities across the entire Workday platform. The ASOR platform enables customers to securely deploy, extend, manage, and measure Workday-delivered agents, as well as partner-built and third-party agents. ASOR engineers play a crucial role in designing all agentic initiatives and features at Workday, including reimagining analytics frameworks, agentic security, MCP, and orchestration initiatives.
Requirements
- Sr Software Development Engineer: 8+ years designing, building, and operating high-scale, production-grade services.
- Software Development Engineer: 5+ years designing, building, and operating high-scale, production-grade services.
- 5-7 years of Full Stack & Bespoke engineering languages (e.g., Java, Python, Kotlin, React, NodeJS, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of software design patterns, architectural best practices, API development, and scalable system design.
- Strong systems engineering approach to diagnosing and resolving production issues.
- Experience developing in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid understanding of information security frameworks, security standards and guidelines.
- Familiarity with LLMs and their strengths and limitations.
Responsibilities
- Drive design and lead implementation of core features and platform enhancements for the Agent System of Record.
- Create platform and service architectural designs that translate business needs into proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with senior architects on technical requirements and design alignment to foster a shared understanding and vision.
- Present ideas and concepts to Product and Executive audiences, communicating architectural concepts in the context of business and organizational requirements and strategy.
- Work closely with the product team to prototype and iterate on design experiments.
- Closely mentor junior engineers, helping them understand product requirements and design solutions, while encouraging their career aspirations.
- Lead by example with technical excellence, acting as a thoughtful and inspirational engineer.
