Leidos is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) En-Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) system. ERAM is the core of the Next Generation Air Traffic Control System and is crucial for air navigation, serving as the foundational platform for all Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems. Developers on the ERAM team will support new system capabilities and enhancements requested by the FAA, as well as system upgrades based on Tech Refresh initiatives. ERAM also plays a key role in increasing air traffic flow as the demand for additional capabilities grows. This role specifically focuses on the ERAM middleware layer, referred to as “FlightDeck” (FDK). Flight Deck functions and capabilities include Real-Time Programming on High Availability Systems, Multi-threaded programming, Low Level Operating Systems (Linux) customization (RPMs, Firmware, Unix Command Line), SW/HW Integration (NetApp, Hardware, Ansible Playbooks, automation scripting), low-level communication software (TCP-IP, UDP, SCTP), support of Common Services used by ERAM Application teams, and System Maintenance Concepts.
