About The Position

CommerceIQ is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Toronto team. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, building, and delivering AI-powered commerce solutions. The engineer will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and data scientists. This role offers career growth in AI development within a production environment, high-impact work on new AI-driven products, and the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in a global, high-performing team. The position is onsite, requiring work from the office Monday-Friday.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience (internships and co-op work will be considered).
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a highly ranked university.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Experience working with AI tools such as Claude.
• Some experience building backend or full-stack applications, either in professional settings or personal projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Contributions on Github or Stackoverflow.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with microservices.
• Familiarity with modern development practices like CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across functions to build on a variety of use cases.
• Partner with executives to gain a full perspective from the Founders and CEO’s desk.
• Grow technical skills by participating in design reviews, writing high-quality code, and gaining experience with best practices in testing, security, and scalability.
• Deliver impactful work by shipping features that are quickly adopted by customers and directly improve their ecommerce performance.
