About The Position

Amazon Aurora is an innovative and rapidly growing area within AWS, focusing on PostgreSQL-compatible relational databases. This role involves building hyper-scale database services in the cloud, offering enterprise-class performance, availability, and durability. The team works on challenging problems in distributed systems, concurrency, database internals, caching, query optimization, languages, and performance engineering. This is a hands-on position where you will own the design and development of significant system software components critical to industry-leading database services architected for the cloud. You will be part of the team that architects, designs, and implements highly scalable distributed database systems that provide availability, reliability, and performance guarantees. The goal is to be the world's best and fastest database, built by an excellent team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
