About The Position

Apple's Customer Experience Engineering team is looking for a passionate Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis and certification of our support apps. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about quality and using light weight processes to consistently achieve it. The role would also involve interacting with cross-functional engineering and product teams to test features, perform root cause analysis, and drive the quality of our customer's experience. In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will be directly responsible for ensuring the quality of Apple's customer support experience, focusing on consistent functionality, performance, and stability. This involves understanding new and existing feature implementations to craft informed and robust testing charters, authoring test scenarios, scripts, and plans, and then executing functional, performance, and stability testing. You will also write and review automation test scripts, identify and report defects with first-level root cause analysis and consistent reproduction steps, and champion quality efforts by collaborating with test automation engineering, product management, and engineering program teams. Ensure the consistent functionality, performance, and stability of Apple's customer support experience and applications. Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, performance, and stability testing, leveraging proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Swift. Implement scalable automation strategies, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to drive continuous feedback and enhance overall product quality. Identify, meticulously report, and perform first-level root cause analysis for defects, providing clear reproduction steps and collaborating with development teams for resolution. Craft informed and robust testing charters, and author comprehensive test scenarios and plans based on new and existing feature implementations. Drive quality efforts throughout the development lifecycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering, product management, and test automation teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in software quality assurance testing.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining test frameworks using tools such as RestAssured or Selenium
  • Proficiency in one or multiple languages such as Java, Python etc.
  • Unparalleled written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to abstract technical conversations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A passion to get the little things right.
  • Experience testing iOS native and Safari-based web applications.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) and load/stress/scalability testing practices.

  • Experience as a team lead preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven testing tools
