About The Position

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). Define, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain automation infrastructure for configuration management and service deployment. Improve operational efficiency to help scale the team by automating where reasonable. Build platforms that empower application developers to interact with production in a self service manner. Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and partners to deliver results through collaboration. Respond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution. Retro and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes. Engage in a culture of learning and innovation through hackathons, online course offerings, and employee-led special interest guilds. In time, you will be required to participate in an infrequent on-call rotation as part of the role.

Requirements

  • This position requires a TS/SCI with CI POLY security clearance. Applicants must already possess a valid and active TS/SCI with CI POLY security clearance.
  • 3+ years of SRE/DevOps experience in automating deployments, scaling, and management of containerised applications within Kubernetes.
  • Enterprise Experience in public cloud platform (ideally on AWS or GCP)
  • 3+ years working with CI/CD tools & technologies

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency with at least one deployment automation / configuration management tool (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, ArgoCD).
  • Proficiency in using observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus) for metric driven debugging
  • Experience with architecture, analysis, and support of complex distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting / developing using Bash, Python, Go, Ruby or similar scripting language
  • Passion to optimise and automate, with the maturity to know when and where it’s appropriate.
  • Ability to mentor and coach engineers to inspire professional growth.
  • Experience influencing and affecting technological change at the team level.
