About the team Product UI Service (PUIS) is Amazon's Tier-1 rendering service for ASIN faceouts: the product detail pages, search results, and shopping surfaces that shoppers interact with most. It sits at the heart of the Store's rendering stack, orchestrating how product information is fetched, assembled, and delivered across surfaces. PUIS receives requests from upstream services like Search and PCS, coordinates with AAPI to retrieve product data, and drives the component rendering pipeline that produces the shopper-facing UI. It powers some of Amazon's highest-traffic experiences and operates under strict latency and resiliency requirements. The space requires engineers who can independently own multi-quarter problems with significant architectural trade-offs, from redesigning the component model for federation to driving alignment with partner teams on data ownership boundaries. Engineers in the team define the path, not just execute it, and have the space to influence a broad surface area comprising of multiple teams.
