About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated software engineer to join our mission to make AWS the best place to operate relational databases, especially in the world of agentic AI. The RDS Security Monitoring team owns features that help customers monitor their Aurora and RDS databases and surface security findings to address and mitigate various attack vectors. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly visible team that is delivering transformative agentic AI solutions to help customers protect their growing fleet of Aurora and RDS databases.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques

Responsibilities

• Developing a product that captures and analyzes security telemetry from Aurora and RDS databases and surfaces security findings to our customers.
• Developing and operating agentic AI solutions that use that security telemetry to troubleshoot and mitigate security threats.
• Responsible for all aspects of engineering, including development, testing, and deployment of these services.
• Taking ownership of the operational excellence of your service.
