About The Position

Micron Idaho Semiconductor Manufacturing (Triton) LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer focused on Operations Improvement within a Fab environment. This role supports manufacturing processes and production operations through automation, analytics, and manufacturing systems such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS), scheduling, and automation platforms. The position involves completing Fab-appropriate safety training, adhering to safety and environmental procedures, and reporting safety concerns. The engineer will partner with management to provide data analysis, develop advanced production web-reports, and create applications to enhance production metrics. This role requires understanding technical language, effective presentation skills, leading interdepartmental meetings, mentoring others, and establishing trusting relationships with global partners. The engineer will drive improvement solutions, understand the impact of process changes, and partner with Operations teams through rotations in the Remote Operations Center (ROC) and collaboration with Operations Development Engineering (ODE) teams. Leveraging global OI best-known methods (BKM’s) and supporting 24/7 OI systems when on call are key aspects of the role. The engineer will design and coordinate projects across departments, identify and lead improvement efforts related to cycle time reduction and continuous improvement, and plan tasks to meet project deadlines. A thorough understanding of AMHS layout, including analyzing congestion and delivery times, is necessary, along with providing metrics to improve AMHS efficiency. Optimizing tool-to-tool delivery times, providing pre/post metrics for OI enhancements, and following the OI testing cycle (DEV/BETA/PROD) for new software releases are also required. The role applies industrial engineering concepts to line management, scheduling, and production planning, using analytical tools to drive decisions, identifying optimization opportunities, and automating Fab processes to reduce variability and waste. Developing, maintaining, and improving scheduling and business rules are essential. The position includes 24/7 on-call support for one week every 8 weeks.
