About The Position

As a Software Development Engineer, iOS, you’ll help shape the design system behind Zillow’s iOS experience and the reusable components that product teams rely on every day. This role offers the chance to grow your iOS engineering career while partnering with design, product, and engineering to improve quality, consistency, and speed across Zillow’s mobile experiences. You’ll also work in a modern development environment that thoughtfully incorporates AI-assisted tools into everyday engineering workflows. This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, with strong familiarity with iOS platform conventions and Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of application performance, including concurrency, memory efficiency, and smooth scrolling.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code within deadlines.
  • Experience with build tools, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools effectively, with good judgment about when generated output should be reviewed, tested, or revised.
  • Experience building accessible iOS experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve reusable iOS components, patterns, and tooling that support Zillow’s design system and product experiences.
  • Contribute to the implementation and architecture of design system features, writing high-quality Swift with strong testing practices.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully, applying sound judgment about when to rely on generated output and when to validate it independently.
  • Help define and uphold iOS standards, including accessibility best practices.
  • Support testing strategies, code quality improvements, and regular releases to partner teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve integration issues for teams adopting Constellation and other shared system capabilities.
  • Create documentation and educational content that help partner teams adopt the design system more effectively.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and engineering partners to stay aligned on roadmap priorities and improve the developer and designer experience.
