About The Position

Seeking an experienced Software Developer to be embedded within its QA organization. This resource will be responsible for developing comprehensive test automation solutions that validate both frontend user interfaces and backend APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong Java experience and be comfortable writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code. This individual will support a major modernization initiative focused on migrating legacy automation framework to a new Java and Playwright based solution while also supporting broader QA engineering efforts.

Requirements

  • Strong Java experience
  • Comfortable writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Experience converting or migrating applications, frameworks, or automation suites from one technology stack to another is highly valuable.
  • Self-motivated individuals who proactively identify problems, seek out work, learn new technologies, and drive solutions independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Playwright experience is preferred over Selenium, but either is acceptable.
  • Typescript Playwright experience can be considered if the candidate has prior Java experience.
  • Strong REST Assured experience is highly desirable.
  • Groovy development experience is a major plus, but true Groovy development is rare. Experience simply maintaining Gradle build files should not be considered Groovy development.
  • Kafka experience is a nice to have and would provide additional value to the team.
  • Experience automating complex customer facing web applications such as ecommerce, travel, booking, checkout, or transactional user experiences is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use Java and/or Groovy to develop, enhance, and maintain automated test solutions across UI and service layers.
  • Support the migration of legacy test automation assets into a modern Java and Playwright framework.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and develop automation to improve quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce object oriented development best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and Development teams throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Assist with issue triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Take ownership of quality outcomes and continuously improve automation capabilities.
