Join Expedia’s Insurance and Assurance team, where we empower travelers with peace of mind through purpose-built insurance products. We are seeking an established Software Development Engineer who consistently applies software engineering principles to business contexts, leads small, well-defined projects and continues as a supporting player on complex projects, and actively identifies inefficiencies in existing systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Experience designing and developing services or components, including API design and data modeling.
Proficiency with at least one modern programming language and familiarity with development tools and workflows.
Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions across multiple domains, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features, from low-level design (LLD) and API development to data modeling and deployment.
Write clean, testable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and code quality standards.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in complex distributed systems.
Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes and support business objectives.
Demonstrate adaptability by working effectively across front-end, back-end, and cloud-based environments.
