Software Development Engineer II, SKG Team

AmazonSeattle, WA
$143,700 - $194,400Onsite

About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. The SKG team within DC BRIDGE is building intelligent systems to revolutionize how data center engineers interact with alarm data by reducing noise, automating triage, and applying generative AI for actionable insights. This is a builder role on a team that ships frequently, where an SDE2 will own features end-to-end (design, code, test, deploy, operate) and contribute to technical decisions. The technology strategy for GenAI is still being shaped, meaning design proposals and prototypes will directly influence future development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Responsibilities

  • Build services in the Data Center Alarming Platform to transform alarm data into actionable signals through suppression, correlation, and deduplication logic across hundreds of data centers, owning features end-to-end and making implementation decisions.
  • Integrate with Amazon Bedrock for natural-language alarm summarization, pattern detection, and triage assistance, focusing on applied engineering by integrating and orchestrating AI services, prototyping, measuring, and iterating.
  • Contribute to the Automated Triage and Ticketing Engine, which classifies, prioritizes, and routes alarms to data center engineering operations teams with contextual information for faster resolution.
  • Define infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, writing constructs, setting up pipelines, and owning the operational health of deployed services.
  • Participate in design reviews by authoring designs for own work and providing feedback on others' designs, bringing proposals and trade-off analysis.
  • Mentor SDE1s through code review, pairing, and system knowledge transfer, helping them grow into autonomous contributors.

Benefits

  • health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage)
  • 401(k) matching
  • paid time off
