Today, the organization has developed the industry’s most accurate dataset for ongoing exclusion monitoring and primary source verification, serving the nation’s top health systems, payers, and healthcare organizations. Our solutions monitor employees, vendors, provider networks, licenses, credentials, and more for OIG and state Medicaid exclusions, sanctions or disciplinary actions, license expirations, or suspensions. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented software engineer to join our growing healthcare SaaS organization in Nashville, TN. As a member of the software engineering team, the successful candidate will work on emerging technologies — including AI/ML-powered features — to enhance ProviderTrust's existing products and develop innovative products and solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Ability to design cloud native systems and solve high-impact problems.
  • Experience in full stack and cloud native development delivering on AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), serverless architectures, and orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, load balancers, API gateways), security (IAM roles, encryption), identifying bottlenecks in distributed systems, and performance/cost optimization.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of event-driven architecture.
  • Strong at troubleshooting, profiling, insights, and dashboards.
  • Strong command of Java or C# and associated libraries optimized for cloud environments.
  • Experience in cloud native databases: SQL (Aurora/RDS), query performance, and document data stores (DynamoDB).
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, rolling dark, branching, and code pipelines.
  • Experience in ReactJS or other modern JavaScript front end stack.
  • Experience with AI/ML integration and tooling, including:
  • Familiarity with large language model (LLM) APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock) and prompt engineering best practices.
  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered features into production applications (e.g., intelligent search, classification, summarization, or recommendations).
  • Understanding of ML pipeline concepts, model deployment, and inference at scale (e.g., SageMaker or similar).
  • Awareness of responsible AI principles, including bias mitigation, explainability, and data privacy considerations in healthcare contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Occasionally leads design discussions, aligning solutions with technical vision — including evaluating where AI/ML capabilities can add measurable product value.
  • Build high quality technical solutions that adhere to technical and architectural guidelines without over-engineering. Writes great, testable code while providing constructive feedback to those around them on improving the code base. Contributes to the development and iteration of AI-powered features with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and responsible use.
  • Regularly adds new and relevant documentation while improving our ability to test efficiently, including documenting AI model behavior, prompt strategies, and evaluation approaches.
  • Occasionally works with other squads to align on direction and unblock others. Consistently provides constructive feedback.
  • Communicates effectively with teammates and stakeholders about current work, including surfacing tradeoffs and limitations of AI-assisted solutions.
  • Active in resolving escalations, able to solve complex issues efficiently, begins to look for patterns and root cause solutions — including monitoring AI feature performance and addressing model drift or quality issues.
