About The Position

Our diverse, vibrant, and welcoming community is essential in driving our success. This Software Development Engineer I position is with the SFIS (Salesforce Integration Services) team. SFIS builds and runs the high-scale integration, data, and middleware platform that connects Salesforce and the rest of Expedia Group. Our services keep partner and sales workflows fast, reliable, and insight-driven. We leverage the latest technologies, including open source solutions, and operate largely within AWS. We value and exude integrity, ownership, collaboration, growth, and having fun. In this role, you will design, build, and support systems end-to-end. You will work closely across teams, levels, and disciplines. As an SDE I, you will own features end-to-end, contribute to technical design, and help raise the bar for engineering quality through rigorous testing, observability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience implementing system components.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and associated frameworks, with solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, debugging, and unit/integration testing.
  • Experience contributing to the operational lifecycle of services (monitoring, alerting, deployment pipelines, and incident handling) within a team setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Full-stack engineer with proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and React.
  • Proficiency with LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, or conversational AI systems — including prompt design, tool integration, or orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience creating APIs consumed across teams or business units.
  • Experience with AI-enabled software development workflows, including use of AI coding assistants and automated testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage well-defined features and tasks with supervision. Own end-to-end delivery, from implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Write clean, reliable, and well-tested code, applying sound engineering principles, design patterns, and code review practices to improve quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements in reliability, observability, and resilience.
  • Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows.
