About The Position

Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink (MSF) enables real-time processing of high-volume streaming data in the cloud. We're looking for a new teammate who is enthusiastic and able to work effectively with a diverse team and someone who will help us continue to build a inclusive team culture. Today, real-time processing from data streams still needs substantial investments from customers in writing their stream processing applications and maintaining the necessary infrastructure. As a member of the team you will be working towards the vision of making the service easy to use AWS service, robust and cost-effective for customers to run their stream processing applications. You will be part of a journey from feature inception, iterating on customer feedback, and continuous customer delivery. You will also have the opportunity to be a part of the team developing large scale stream processing services like Apache Flink and Apache Kafka running on container orchestration platforms. This is a strategic bet for our MAST (Messaging and Streaming team) organization in making Stream processing mainstream and you will be forefront in this effort. MSF enables real-time processing of high-volume streaming data in the cloud. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Work on backend and customer-facing systems, contributing to the development and improvement of our infrastructure services.
  • Focus on building reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure our services are highly available and scalable to meet the needs of our global customer base.
  • Work with customers and other technology leaders at Amazon to translate strategic business needs into features and projects.
  • Participate in strategic planning, contributing to the overall direction of the service.
  • Involve in on-call responsibilities.
  • Work together to resolve the root cause of issues to ensure systems are fault-tolerant.
