•$150,000 - $170,000•Onsite

About The Position

DNI is seeking a Software Developer to support the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) under Air Force JWAC IT Services (JITS). This role applies software development to cloud-based data services: building reliable code, integrations, APIs, automation, and pipeline components that help move, prepare, and deliver data for analytics and AI/ML use. This profile is aimed at developers who want to work closer to data and cloud platforms—not only traditional application feature development. Hands-on delivery in AWS or Kubernetes/container environments is important; experience with both is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Three or more years of relevant software development experience, including hands-on work across the software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, test, debug, and document code used in production, lab, or proof-of-concept delivery.
  • Hands-on delivery experience with AWS or Kubernetes/containerized applications. Experience with both is a plus.
  • Experience with APIs, integrations, automation, data-intensive applications, ETL, or data pipelines—or a strong demonstrated interest in building these capabilities.
  • Ability to work onsite at JWAC in Dahlgren, Virginia, and to obtain and maintain the required TS/SCI and SAP access, as applicable to the assignment.
  • Ability to meet the DoD workforce qualification requirements applicable to the assigned duties; final work-role details must be confirmed before posting.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS experience with data, integration, analytics, or application services such as AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lake Formation, or Amazon RDS.
  • Experience delivering containerized workloads with Kubernetes or another container platform.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SQL, event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, or cloud-native application design.
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure automation, or DevSecOps.
  • Exposure to data science or AI/ML workflows, model-ready data, search, or cloud-hosted model services.
  • Experience in classified, regulated, or Department of Defense environments.
  • Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, software-development, or cybersecurity certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain software components across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Build or extend data-pipeline and ETL components that ingest, transform, validate, and publish structured or unstructured data.
  • Develop APIs, web services, integrations, serverless functions, and workflow automation that connect data sources, applications, and analytics services.
  • Help prepare reliable, well-documented datasets for analytics, feature engineering, model training, and inference.
  • Deliver software into AWS cloud services or Kubernetes/containerized environments; contribute to deployment automation and CI/CD practices.
  • Improve reliability through automated testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance.
  • Apply secure development practices, including least-privilege access, data protection, and security checks in the delivery workflow.
  • Work with cloud engineers, data scientists, analysts, cybersecurity staff, and Government stakeholders to clarify needs and deliver practical solutions.
  • Evaluate performance, operational effort, and cloud cost when recommending or improving an implementation.
