We design and develop our back end systems and REST APIs that serve billion plus searches a day, collecting and parsing data across thousands of partners to get the best deals for our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
  • Expertise in Core Java and Spring Boot for building high-performance applications.
  • Thorough SQL composition skills for querying and analysis.
  • Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, New Relic) to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Familiarity with event-streaming platforms like Kafka.
  • Openness to utilizing modern GenAI tools (e.g., Gemini, Cursor) to enhance productivity.
  • Proficiency in version control best practices using Git and Gitflow.
  • Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability, and Trust.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes, and Docker is a big positive.
  • Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to critical projects that directly impact Priceline's business strategy.
  • Accelerate your productivity by utilizing cutting-edge Generative AI tools like Gemini and Cursor.
  • Develop high-performance, cloud-native applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
  • Build low-latency, high-throughput transactional services supported by CI/CD pipelines.
  • Utilize SQL to collect and query data for investigation and analysis in real-time.
  • Leverage observability tools like Splunk and New Relic to monitor trends and troubleshoot applications.
  • Work within a cross-functional Agile team focused on continuous experimentation and delivery.
  • Deeply understand the codebase and business needs to effectively implement application changes.
  • Engage in open collaboration, offering technical solutions and participating in constructive team decision-making.
