About The Position

The Migration Conversion Team is looking for a Software Developer (Emerging Careers) to help move SAS9 objects over to Viya 4. This role involves learning new things and working on something different. The team currently has two groups: one focused on UI/UX and another on a conversion service that is continuously updated as objects are moved to the target application UI. This work is critical for SAS to successfully migrate customers from the older SAS-9 system to Viya4 (cloud).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
  • 2-5 years of demonstratable programming experience as a software developer
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Typescript, React or Go
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Go, Rest APIs, and Groovy
  • Proficient with source control management techniques (Git, GitHub) including branching, code review, and merging.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support robust quality engineering solutions at every layer of the software development life cycle.
  • Empower your team to continuously deliver enterprise-grade software to production by engineering quality into the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Create and maintain the highest quality of Rest APIs, using modern development techniques, and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Capitalize upon your creativity by developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Produce key data that illustrates the quality of applications and develops insight that drive the direction of quality engineering.
  • Work with your team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
  • Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality.
  • Challenge the status quo every day and never stop improving quality engineering practices.
  • Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability.
