About The Position

The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Software Developer to provide specialized expertise in support of the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) Office of Performance Analysis, Data Integration and Modeling Group. You will use your expertise in SQL to review and develop software applications related to the operation and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS). This support will also include innovative methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that support the transformation of FAA raw data into meaningful, useful, and actionable information to support business decisions. You will assist AJR-G in developing software applications and the development of cloud solutions for existing databases. You will also support the development of a shared platform by which a program/system can be modularly integrated. Provide technical support for completion of lifecycle system design and analysis. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA degree and 2 to 4 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience or if no degree, additional related work experience can be substituted.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasking and deadlines.
  • Experience developing system and software design documents with emphasis on process flow diagrams.
  • Experience with agile / scrum software development practices.
  • Solid experience with SQL and/or Nifi development tools.
  • Git/bitbucket for software configuration management.
  • Familiarity Jira for software workflow management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing systems that run 24/7 is desirable.
  • Experience with AWS cloud is desired though not required.
  • Knowledge of the FAA’s Knowledge Services Network (KSN) (SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of the FAA SWIM data sources.
  • Knowledge of containerization of components for software development is a plus.
