About The Position

Parsons Corporation is currently searching for a full-time Software Developer Mid to Senior Level position in Quantico, VA. This position will primarily be working on a data visualization program. As a leading member of our team, you would work on one or more efforts at a time, assisting and managing multiple parts of the development process.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 8 years of experience doing Software development at the user or Kernel level, computer programming or digital forensics
  • 5 years of experience in Software Development using C/C++/Java
  • TS clearance and a willingness to sit for a polygraph
  • An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Perl, Python, Ruby, Javascript
  • Knowledge of NoSQL systems, cloud computing techniques, virtualization, parallel programming, network programming, mobile development, interface development
  • Familiarity with end-to-end software development in Linux, Windows, Unix, and web environments
  • Familiarity with Software Development tools – IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, and Emacs, version control such as Git and Subversion, and bug tracking systems like Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers, analysts, and other developers to brainstorm and implement creative solutions for customer needs.
  • Share expertise in software development, data format visualization, and data analytics to guide the team toward achieving program objectives.
  • Take a leadership role in defining the technical direction of projects, ensuring that the team’s efforts align with customer requirements and mission goals.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions, leveraging programming languages like Python and C/C++.
  • Collaborate with team members to test and refine code, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Work with tools and frameworks such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) to enhance the team’s capabilities.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative approaches and refine technical designs.
  • Provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
  • Help the team stay ahead of the curve by researching and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies.
