About The Position

VSolvit is seeking a Software Developer to support the development, modernization, and sustainment of mission-critical analysis applications for the U.S. Navy. The selected candidate will work in an Agile SAFe environment to design, develop, test, and maintain desktop applications using C#, .NET, WPF, and XAML. This role is suited for mid- to senior-level developers with strong desktop application experience and an interest in modernizing legacy systems.

Requirements

  • 3–10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET desktop development.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications with WPF and XAML.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and TPL.
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development.
  • Experience with NUnit, xUnit, MSTest, or similar testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Moq or similar mocking frameworks.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex software systems.
  • Working knowledge of Git.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • If applicable, former or current U.S. Government employees must provide a post-employment ethics letter if offered employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced WPF and XAML experience, including MVVM.
  • Experience with Telerik UI controls.
  • Experience creating or maintaining YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum or SAFe.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in government, defense, or regulated environments.
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications.
  • Familiarity with Delphi.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain desktop applications using C#, .NET, WPF, and XAML.
  • Support modernization of legacy applications, including Delphi-based systems.
  • Apply object-oriented design, multi-threading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
  • Use Test Driven Development practices and create automated tests.
  • Troubleshoot software defects and performance issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, testers, and government stakeholders.
