About The Position

Tech(x) seeks an entry-level Android software developer to support U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The role involves software development in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment and is performed onsite. Travel may be up to 5%.

Requirements

• One to two years of software development experience focused on Android; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Programming experience in Java, Kotlin, or C/C++.
• Android development experience, including familiarity with the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Android ecosystem.
• Strong communication skills, ability to learn independently, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Active security clearance.
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Department of Defense experience.
• Experience with Linux or Windows.
• Familiarity with web applications or microservices development.
• Familiarity with Army tactical equipment, including tactical radios, commercial off-the-shelf radios, handheld devices, and vehicle devices.
• Knowledge of network management protocols and data models.
• Familiarity with Agile software development processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build applications for the Android platform.
• Develop software applications, services, and systems.
• Integrate software components into a complex software development environment.
• Collaborate with team members to review architecture designs, system requirements, and code.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Unit test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
