About The Position

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Developer/Coder to join our Air Force / Army team at Eglin AFB and grow their career within the organization. The primary function of this role is to support the United States Air Force’s 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract. The ideal candidate has a passion for writing clean code, building efficient tools, and supporting operational software solutions, web applications, and structured business processes. Working under direct or general supervision, you will apply solid programming, scripting, and problem-solving skills to satisfy the requirements of engineers, technicians, planners, and managers. Relying on clear communication and technical curiosity, you will collaborate within an Agile team to develop, test, and deliver functional software components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 3 years of direct software development and scripting experience. An additional 2yrs years of hands-on software development experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Basic Level DoD 8140 certification (Security+ or higher).
  • Solid programming competency in C# (.NET) and/or Python.
  • Strong scripting capability using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for file parsing and automation tasks.
  • Practical experience with Git version control (commits, branching, merge requests/pull requests).
  • Familiarity or comfort working within restricted, offline government network enclaves.
  • Must have a current/active Top Secret Clearance
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI-eligible clearance (i.e. DCID 6/4 eligibility)
  • Willingness to submit to a Polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Experience parsing, transforming, or validating structured and non-standard data formats (binary, CSV, XML, JSON, or telemetry).
  • Experience developing desktop user interfaces (WPF) or internal web-based applications (Blazor / ASP.NET / HTML / CSS / JavaScript).
  • Database planning, query creation, and modification using SQL.
  • Basic exposure to Docker and containerized tool deployment.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team structure.
  • Technical/engineering exposure in a test laboratory or prototype engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conceptualizing, planning, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software tools and web-based applications.
  • Write reliable scripts and utilities for data parsing, file transformation, process automation, and system administration support.
  • Work comfortably with software deployment and maintenance routines inside constrained or offline/air-gapped government network enclaves.
  • Participate actively in daily standups, sprint planning, and team tasks using Git version control and issue boards.
  • Apply technical capabilities to meet the functional needs of technicians, engineers, and project leaders.
