About The Position

Verra Mobility is seeking a Software Developer to develop, enhance, test, and support enterprise applications across modern and legacy technology stacks. The ideal candidate has solid hands-on development experience with C#, modern .NET, REST APIs, React, and SQL, and is interested in growing their skills in cloud-native development, microservices, micro frontends, software design, and AI-assisted engineering. The role will contribute to building new cloud-based applications while also supporting and incrementally modernizing legacy applications built with .NET Framework, C#, and ASP.NET.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Typically, 6+ years of professional software development experience, with substantial hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
• Hands-on experience developing full-stack applications using .NET and modern frontend technologies such as React.
• Experience developing or consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases.
• Excellent communication (written & verbal), knowledge sharing, and collaboration skills.
• Experience within team environments and Agile project methodologies is a must.
• Solid hands-on experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Web API, REST services, LINQ, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, and Entity Framework/EF Core.
• Experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, component-based development, and REST API integration.
• Working knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, common design patterns, layered architecture, clean-code principles, APIs, and microservices concepts.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably SQL Server, including queries, stored procedures, data access, troubleshooting, and performance fundamentals.
• Ability to understand, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance applications using .NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Experience writing unit tests and familiarity with integration/API testing, mocking, code reviews, static analysis, debugging, and secure coding practices.
• Practical experience—or strong willingness to become proficient—with generative AI/code-generation tools for coding, unit testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and development productivity.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to micro frontends and event-driven architecture is desirable.
• Experience or working knowledge of cloud development, preferably Azure, and familiarity with CI/CD, source control, automated builds/deployments, containers, application configuration, logging, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance applications using C#, modern .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, React, and SQL/PLSQL.
• Develop backend services, APIs, frontend components, and integrations based on technical designs and product requirements.
• Contribute to applications based on microservices and micro frontend architecture while following established architecture and engineering standards.
• Apply object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, clean-code practices, separation of concerns, dependency injection, and appropriate design patterns with guidance from senior engineers and Tech Leads.
• Develop reusable and maintainable React/TypeScript components and integrate them with backend APIs.
• Develop and deploy applications in a cloud environment, preferably Azure, following established cloud and DevOps practices
• Navigate the iterative development and release management processes within the Scrum framework.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and API tests and ensure changes meet established quality standards.
• Use approved generative AI/code-generation tools to assist with requirements understanding, coding, refactoring, unit-test generation, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.
• Critically review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and compliance with engineering standards rather than accepting generated code without verification.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Tech Leads, senior developers, Architects, QA, DevOps, application support, and other team members.
• Continuously develop technical skills and progressively take ownership of more complex features and technical decisions.
• Take ownership of assigned stories/features from development through testing, deployment, and production validation.
