About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Developer to join their team. This role involves designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging software, with a specific focus on web-based applications and cyber tools. The developer will work with various technologies including C#, ASP.Net, AngularJS, and Angular, and implement interfaces with Apache HTTPD server, postGres, and Microsoft databases. A key responsibility is supporting the migration of existing applications to Azure cloud. The position requires collaboration with product owners, project managers, and other software engineers to interpret requirements, design solutions, and implement code that meets system performance goals. The role also emphasizes writing, testing, and documenting error-proof code, supporting continuous integration and continuous development pipelines, and ensuring compliance with government directives regarding software and systems safety. The developer will also be involved in ongoing security testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and maintaining technical documentation, while developing familiarity with new cyber software, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Coding proficiency using: C# or Java; Python or PHP
  • Experience architecting, implementing, and deploying cloud native solutions.
  • Familiarity with containerized development (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Use Gitlab CI/CD for automated testing and cloud deployments via Helm.
  • Experience developing front end web applications.
  • Experience with backend/API development
  • SQL/NoSQL database modeling and administration
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • A degree in one of the following fields is highly desired: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or Cybersecurity. However, an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
  • Required active certification: Security+ or CASP+ or Kubernetes CKA or AWS Developer Associate.
  • Requires direct hands-on experience developing, designing, and implementing software applications for a customer.
  • Direct hands-on experience with development management tools Jira/Confluence/GitLab and testing tools.
  • Must have an active SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug software utilizing C#, ASP.Net, AngularJS, and/or Angular framework.
  • Implement interfaces with Apache HTTPD server, postGres and Microsoft databases.
  • Support moving existing applications to Azure cloud.
  • Work with product owner, project manager, and software engineers to interpret requirements, design solutions, and implement code to meet system performance goals.
  • Write, test, and document error-proof code.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous development pipeline.
  • Comply with government directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety.
  • Confirm design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verify implementation.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, DevOps and QA teams through the development cycle.
  • Work with cross-functional team to identify user needs and specify solutions in the problem domain.
  • Support architecture and design process.
  • Code new features: integrate APIs, configure software packages; conduct unit testing and prepare for production; O&M support for running applications (improve and patch).
  • Assist in developing deployment plan including software deployment checklists and quality controls.
  • Apply DevSecOps best practices to promote software into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous ATO.
  • Implement, test, and operate advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture.
  • Perform on-going security testing and code review to improve software security.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise.
  • Maintain technical documentation.
  • Develop a familiarity with new cyber software, tools, and best practices.
