About The Position

As a Software Developer 2 within our Technology & Engineering team, you will act as a core engine driving the future of our digital logistics ecosystem. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated software solutions that streamline, automate, and scale our warehouse operations and transportation management systems. In this role, you will break down complex problems into manageable steps to deliver impactful features on our product roadmap while fostering knowledge-sharing across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a high-performing squad to optimize global supply chain systems using modern tech stacks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in object-oriented programming using TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven, distributed systems, and microservices architecture with the ability to design and develop solutions independently.
  • Solid familiarity with a variety of database systems and the ability to write complex queries to extract and manipulate data efficiently.
  • Foundational knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and containerization concepts, specifically utilizing AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience or familiarity with the SAP domain, retail logistics, or warehouse operations (WMS/ERP relationships).
  • Practical exposure to prompt engineering (e.g., Few-Shot or Chain-of-Thought techniques) and agentic workflow design to automate or synthesize complex processes.
  • Ability to recognize when architectural decisions are needed, leveraging established guidelines to evaluate technical debt and solve linear business logic.
  • A proactive attitude toward challenging the status quo, making impactful technical decisions with your squad, and welcoming constructive feedback.
  • A natural inclination for talent development, showing excitement for onboarding new peers and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize sophisticated software for our transportation management systems, ensuring seamless SAP integration and efficient workflow management.
  • Build robust APIs and microservices to integrate core systems with external inventory solutions and third-party Order Management Systems (OMS) for reliable data exchange.
  • Promote engineering best practices by writing clean, reusable code, conducting constructive code reviews, and monitoring system performance to troubleshoot live issues.
  • Implement and refine automated testing and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to guarantee the scalability and reliability of our shipping solutions.
  • Act as a key contributor to our internal knowledge base, partner with incoming developers, and facilitate learning sessions at SSENSE University.
