About The Position

The Software Developer (WSCE)-Journeyman develops, integrates, tests, and maintains software for advanced modeling and simulation systems that support military training, testing, and evaluation. The role involves developing C/C++ applications, integrating software into flight simulators, supporting DevOps processes, working with databases and scripting languages, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance simulation platforms. Responsibilities also include reviewing code, implementing real-time simulation software, and contributing to software design and future system enhancements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of software development experience.
Experience with C/C++, CMake, Bash, Python, scripting, and databases.
Familiarity with Agile development tools such as Git and Jira.
Ability to obtain required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Windows/Linux development environments is preferred.
Experience with modeling & simulation, military systems, or training environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop software for advanced modeling and simulation environments.
Integrate software into flight simulators for pilot training.
Support software development, integration, customer training, and demonstrations.
Design, develop, test, and maintain C/C++ applications.
Develop software using CMake, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Work within DevOps environments, including automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Evaluate and review C/C++ source code.
Develop real-time software using parallel processing, multithreading, and inter-process communication.
Simulate complex environments and platforms.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement software enhancements.
Utilize Git, Jira, and other Agile development tools.
Support cross-platform software development.
