About The Position

GRVTY is seeking a Software Developer (Systems Software) with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA. In this capacity, the Software Developer will support a team creating component based services to integrate with multiple applications and frameworks and provide development support for service and application development to enhance and develop mission-based solutions and support other program office software projects. GRVTY is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest. Work on this program takes place in Chantilly, VA and in various field offices throughout Northern VA (we cannot support remote work), and requires a TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance (acceptable to this customer).

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI w/Polygraph (acceptable to this customer)
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or additional equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing Python applications with data science libraries
  • Demonstrated experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, SpaCy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras
  • Demonstrated experience with Natural Language Processing techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS Services and Cloud based development
  • Demonstrated experience working with REST services
  • Demonstrated experience working with SQL, including Postgres
  • Demonstrated experience with search syntax to include ICQL and Retrieval Ware
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting analytical skills to assess customer requirements and create innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting problem solving skills to include debugging and testing web applications

  • Demonstrated experience in the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods or services

Responsibilities

  • Support a team creating component based services to integrate with multiple applications and frameworks.
  • Provide development support for service and application development to enhance and develop mission-based solutions.
  • Support other program office software projects.
  • Design and develop tools that integrate with mission applications.
  • Design and develop collaborative tools, data manipulation techniques, data visualization techniques, and directory services.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines for data applications.
  • Develop, test, evaluate, and integrate machine learning models, in particular Large Language Models, into production software.
  • Create RESTful APIs or microservices (using Flask, FastAPI, or Django) to expose data insights or models to other applications.
  • Provide the operations and maintenance of operational systems including cloud based activities.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors or to improve performance.
  • Optimize algorithms for efficiency and implement monitoring tools like Prometheus or MLflow to track model performance, detect drift, and ensure software reliability in production environments.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost restraints for Sponsor consideration.
  • Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Confer with other application's systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Correct errors by making appropriate changes and confirming the desired results are produced.
  • Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instruction so others can understand the program.
  • Write, update, and maintain applications or software packages to handle specific tasks.
  • As needed, consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify technical aspects of the program(s).
