About The Position

S2Technologies is seeking a software developer to join an established development team responsible for enhancing, updating, and sustaining an existing DoD cloud-based system. The role works in an agile environment and collaborates with team members and end users to modernize and upgrade the system. It involves developing new code, migrating Angular and Accumulo to their latest versions, and supporting requirements development and other lifecycle documentation and processes. This is a part-time 1099/consultant position performed remotely. Candidates must live within 75 miles of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in front-end or back-end development.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with Angular.
• Coordinate efforts and communicate changes with the IT team.
• Excellent business communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• Discipline to complete tasks while working remotely or telecommuting.
• A qualifying DoD 8570.01m IAT-II certification, such as Security+.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, an Army-issued email and Army CAC; CACs issued by other military branches cannot be accepted.
• Required Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• DoD background.
• Experience with AWS systems.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Angular experience is preferred; strong front-end developers from other backgrounds, such as Python, may also be a fit.
• Cloud development experience, especially in AWS environments.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the development team and program manager to discuss requirements and project schedules.
• Support development of requirements.
• Write new code.
• Integrate applications and other systems.
• Investigate and analyze root-cause issues, propose solutions, and verify and validate final solutions.
• Participate in initial plan design and enhancements to existing plans.
• Assist with documenting requirements.
• Participate in client meetings.
• Help evolve the application by developing testing procedures and quality assurance.
