About The Position

This role requires experience in programming and analysis, with specialized software package support at the senior level. The successful candidate will collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, utilizing structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications, as well as using object-oriented and third-generation language development tools. The role involves working with relational and hierarchical database technologies, information retrieval packages, and communication protocols. A key aspect is eliciting and documenting information from diverse business stakeholders and subject matter experts. The position demands excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate is a team player with a proven track record for meeting deadlines. Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications and rapid application development (RAD) methodologies are essential. Understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices is required. The role also involves reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts, providing post-implementation support, resolving technical issues, and conducting design walkthrough sessions. Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations is necessary, along with the ability to provide user and system documentation.

Requirements

Strong AWS development and cloud architecture experience
Hands-on experience with Amazon Connect
Experience with Amazon Q in Connect and/or Amazon Bedrock
Experience with serverless and/or container-based architectures
Knowledge of DevOps, cloud security, and monitoring best practices
Experience in programming and analysis
Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
Experience in design, code, test, debug and document applications
Experience in the use of object and/or third generation language development tools
Experience in one or more programming languages
Experience in application design, latest design patterns, deployment and troubleshooting
Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using query languages
Experience with one or more communications protocols
Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts

Ability to provide user and system documentation as required

Responsibilities

Design and implement solutions using Amazon Connect (contact flows, routing, agent experience, analytics, Contact Lens, CTR data)
Develop AI-powered capabilities using Amazon Q in Connect and Amazon Bedrock (agent assist, automation, summarization)
Build scalable, event-driven applications using serverless and/or microservices architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, containers/EKS)
Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (CDK/CloudFormation/Terraform)
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance, security, and reliability
Produce technical documentation and solution designs
