About The Position

Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Senior Software Developer – Integration & Secure Review to serve as a senior technical resource supporting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS) application operations, maintenance, enhancement, and integration environment. This position provides advanced software-development and integration expertise for mission-critical Veterinary Services applications and associated interfaces supporting USDA animal health, disease surveillance, regulatory, and operational business processes. The position develops, sustains, troubleshoots, and enhances .NET Framework 4.8 applications, services, interfaces, and integration components. The Senior Developer also supports Rhapsody integration-engine routes, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, database and system integrations, secure software-development practices, and formal application-code review.

Requirements

Senior-level enterprise application development experience with .NET Framework and systems integration.
Demonstrated integration development and troubleshooting experience.
Documented secure-coding training and demonstrated experience reviewing application code for security and quality.
Experience with pull-request/code-review workflows, source control, testing, and CI/CD.
Ability to analyze dependencies and troubleshoot production issues across multiple application components.

Nice To Haves

Rhapsody integration-engine development or route experience.
SSIS and SQL Server integration experience.
Federal application O&M and DevSecOps experience.
Experience with static analysis and application-security testing tools such as SonarQube and Burp Suite.

Responsibilities

Develop, sustain, troubleshoot, and enhance .NET Framework 4.8 services and integration components.
Support Rhapsody route development/modification and application-level integration troubleshooting within the VS environment.
Develop and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and related data integrations as assigned.
Perform formal secure code review through USDA pull-request workflows and document reviewer disposition/evidence on the applicable work item.
Support complex root-cause analysis, cross-application integration issues, testing, and release readiness.
Mentor other developers on secure coding and implementation quality while respecting USDA architecture, security, and release authority.
