About The Position

We are seeking a Software Developer- Mid to join our team supporting the FBI’s Operational Technology Division. Designs, develops, and maintains mission-critical applications that process, analyze, and present large-scale multimedia and digital evidence within the FBI Multimedia Exploitation Unit ecosystem. Supports integrated, open architecture platforms that enable data intake, forensic processing, and collaboration across law enforcement partners. Builds full stack solutions that handle high-volume data ingestion, real-time analytics, and concurrent user access at scale. Ensures applications remain secure, reliable, and compliant with federal cybersecurity requirements while integrating with enterprise systems and shared services. This contract supports a government agency's capability to ingest, process, and analyze massive volumes of digital evidence into actionable intelligence. The program drives full lifecycle development, from building scalable applications and forensic tools to integrating enterprise services and maintaining hybrid cloud and classified infrastructure. The work ensures users can securely access, review, and collaborate on evidence in real time. This strengthens national security and investigative outcomes by combining advanced analytics, cloud technologies, and Agile delivery to give investigators faster, more reliable insight into complex digital evidence. Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information access required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 6 years of experience as a Software Developer
  • Experience developing full stack applications using modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Experience with backend development, API design, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and system monitoring
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions
  • U.S Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and federal cybersecurity requirements
  • Familiarity with databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar NoSQL technologies
  • Experience with data processing frameworks such as Kafka or Spark
  • Experience supporting digital forensics, evidence processing, or law enforcement systems
  • Familiarity with search and analytics tools such as Elasticsearch or Solr
  • Experience handling large-scale data systems and high-throughput environments
  • Exposure to multimedia processing, video analytics, or image recognition systems
  • Experience with metadata management, data annotation, and schema design

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains software applications supporting multimedia analysis, forensic processing, and electronic evidence review.
  • Designs and implements scalable backend services capable of handling large data volumes and thousands of simultaneous users.
  • Builds and optimizes data pipelines using streaming and processing frameworks to support real-time ingestion and analytics.
  • Develops intuitive user interfaces that enable efficient review, tagging, and analysis of complex multimedia and forensic data.
  • Implements secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
  • Integrates applications with enterprise services, APIs, and shared data schema's to ensure interoperability across systems.
  • Supports cloud-native development using containerization and orchestration technologies to deploy and manage applications.
  • Participates in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and incremental delivery of features.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
  • Maintains system performance through monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Provides documentation, training support, and technical input to improve system usability and operational effectiveness.
