Software Developer Intern
About The Position
NPX is seeking a Software Developer Intern to contribute to innovative nuclear industry projects. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy software solutions that improve how work is done, while gaining exposure to AI-driven applications, modern architectures, and real-world user needs. You’ll work on a mix of software and AI-enabled solutions, helping develop features, prototype new ideas, and support the transition of tools into production. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and decision-making. This role could be a mix of AI development and full-stack development depending on your interests and experience.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Nice To Haves
- Experience with React, Next.js, Python
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure)
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts
- Experience with databases (Postgres, Redis)
- Interest in the nuclear industry
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software and AI-enabled solutions
- Contribute to building features, tools, and lightweight applications
- Support design and deployment of AI-driven functionality (e.g., agents, automation)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications
- Contribute to testing, integration, and deployment
- Iterate quickly through feedback, experimentation, and learning
