About The Position

Best Buy Co. has openings in Richfield, Minnesota, for a Software Developer in Test position. This role involves creating and executing manual and automated test cases for various types of testing, including configuration, functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Mobile and Wearable devices. The position also includes participating in the design and implementation of automation frameworks, tools, and other software projects. Collaboration with other Software Developers in Test, Quality Engineers, and Software Developers is key to ensuring appropriate testing of bug fixes, features, and release candidates. Responsibilities also include performing Root Cause Analysis on issues related to automation products and proposing, defining, and implementing processes and standards for improved testing through automation. The role requires close partnership with Agile Team Leads to ensure proper test coverage and reporting of systems under test. There are multiple openings for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a software engineering role focused on automation and test frameworks.
  • At least three (3) years of experience designing and implementing automation frameworks.
  • At least three (3) years of experience defining and executing test plans.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in software/web development.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering and software developer teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute manual and automated test cases for configuration, functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing of Mobile and Wearable devices.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of automation frameworks, tools, and other software projects.
  • Collaborate with Software Developers in Test, Quality Engineers, and Software Developers to ensure appropriate testing of bug fixes, features, and release candidates.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on issues that arise in the development, testing, and support of automation products.
  • Propose, define, and implement processes and standards for improved testing through automation.
  • Partner closely with Agile Team Leads to ensure proper test coverage and reporting of systems under test.
