About The Position

Seeking a resourceful entry-level Integration / Automation Developer to join a team that builds and supports integrations between systems and third‑party systems. The role focuses on prototyping, building, and automating integration tooling and processes (APIs, deployments, post‑production support). The contractor will work closely with the hiring manager for onboarding and guidance, coordinate with offshore consultants in India, and collaborate with vendor teams responsible for cloud/DevOps guardrails.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (Electrical engineers with strong software aptitude are encouraged).
  • Practical coding experience — ability to pick up new languages and frameworks quickly; experience with scripting (Python, Node.js, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integration concepts.
  • Comfortable learning and working with cloud deployment concepts (AWS); willingness to work within provided guardrails and DevOps pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and ability to self-learn using documentation, internal wikis, and external resources.
  • Good communication skills and experience coordinating with remote/offshore teams.
  • Availability for a hybrid schedule (primarily Tuesdays in-office) and morning overlap meetings with India‑based team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to AWS services and deployment tooling (CI/CD).
  • Experience using GitHub, VS Code, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience working through third‑party vendor engagement models / contractor workflows.
  • Previous work in utilities, enterprise integration, or similar regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prototype, and deploy integrations and automation tools between internal PG&E systems and third parties (APIs, connectors, scripts).
  • Work in an Agile environment: refine backlog items, implement stories, and deliver incremental updates.
  • Coordinate daily with offshore developers/consultants to review code, exchange requirements, and synchronize work across time zones (morning overlap with India-based team).
  • Use GitHub (with Copilot) and VS Code for development; follow established guardrails and security controls for code that will be deployed to AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with vendor/consulting teams to gather requirements, validate prototypes, and hand off production-ready code.
  • Participate in onboarding activities, documentation updates, and knowledge-sharing across the team and intranet/Wiki.
  • Provide post-production support and help maintain integrations in production.
  • Communicate regularly with the hiring manager and vendor contact regarding scope, timelines, and compensation questions.
